ABOUT
The Student Leadership Association of Nova Scotia actively promotes the concept of student leadership in secondary schools across the provinces. The organization encourages the sharing and exchanging of ideas pertaining to student leadership, activities, and education throughout schools in Nova Scotia. This is accomplished by developing leadership training for secondary student leaders, coordinating and promoting professional development of those responsible for student activities and leadership in secondary schools, and encouraging participation in, and support for, the Canadian Student Leadership Association (CSLA) and the Nova Scotia Secondary School Students’ Association (NSSSA).
Our board of directors consists of five student activities advisors who have worked for numerous years to promote student leadership in Nova Scotia. This group worked tirelessly as part of the steering committee for the 2015 Canadian Student Leadership Conference: Leadership 360. With a successful national conference under their belts, they are now embarking on this journey to promote student leadership across Nova Scotia and to support their fellow student activities advisors.
If you are interested in registering your school with the Student Leadership Association of Nova Scotia, please contact us by phone (902-456-8525) or email (studentleadershipNS@gmail.com). The annual cost of membership is $25 per school. Membership with our organization gives you access to professional development seminars, help with provincial and national leadership conference logistics, and a community of support for student activities advisors. For specific details, please see our Benefits of Membership section.
